- Task Setting
The round organiser shall organise the task.

Based on experience and local knowledge the round organiser should select a task that will benefit as many of the competing pilots as possible.

The tasks that can be set are as follows:-

1 Cross Country

These fall into 3 types of:-

Open distance

- Scores will be allocated as a proportion of the maximum distance flown.

Out and return

- Scores will be allocated as a proportion of the maximum distance, but the task must involve a specified turn point.

Race to defined goal

- The maximum number of points (1000) will be divided between the distance to goal and an order bonus in a ratio to be decided by the meet director (eg 70:30 ratio).
- The distance points will be decided in a similar manner as in an open distance task.
- As for the order points, the window is opened and the first person to goal gets the distance points plus the full bonus (eg 300 points in a 70:30 split). Following pilots landing in goal will get bonus points according to their order of landing. This would mean that only the first (say) 10 pilots in goal get any bonus points, the second getting 90%, the third 80% down to the tenth getting 10%. The number of pilots to benefit from the position bonus will be decided by the round organiser.

2 Ridge Soaring

These fall into 3 types of:-

Ridge run

- Scores will be allocated as a proportion of the distance along a ridge.

Out and return

- Scores will be allocated as a proportion of the maximum distance flown along a ridge, but the task must involve a specified turn point.

Touch and go

- The pilot must fly to a turn point on the ridge and back, and then complete a 'Touch and Go' on a specified target. The score is calculated as a proportion from the pilot who is closest to the center of the target (measured in cm). After 'touching' the target the pilot must fly away and land safely. The first foot down is where the distance will be taken from.

3 Airmanship

These fall into 2 types of:-

Spot landings
